Bands You Should Know: COPELAND

Copeland is an indie rock band from Florida. Their sound is very moving.... very melodic. You can hear the passion they have with melodic, soothing guitars + strings. The lead singer, Aaron Marsh, has a great voice as well. What really shines about Copeland is their light, moving, indie sound. The topics they sing about are what we long for everyday; love, happiness, care, family, friends, loved ones... so it is very easy to listen and drift away when lyrics about chasing love and beautiful memories are combined with euphonious harmonies such as those presented by Copeland. Really great music... one of my favorite bands. I've included some of my favorites. This band is great for late night cool down sessions. Very light... very indie... very moving. Have a listen:

MGMT - Electric Feel

Okay, first + foremost, I'd like to tell you that I've been a fan of MGMT, before Kanye West decided to place it on his blog like almost a year after the single dropped. Secondly, these guys are so amazing to me that I literally left Lupe Fiasco's show to see them play (lupe is one of my greatest of all time). They were both playing at Emo's in Austin (Austin I miss you so much!) and I actually went to see Lupe more but towards the end I ended up watching MGMT play. It was so personal and up close... these fuckin' guys are dope. Anywho, the surreal, enchanted, "take you away" melody plays perfectly with the supr wet and gentle vocals... and the hook is so money it doesn't even know it (SWINGERS!). ENJOY , my lovely readers.

PS: I just downloaded seasons 1 & 2 of Eric & Tim's Awesome Show... my brain is so confused and fucked at the same time. lmao.

NEW VIDEO!! (instant classic): GNARLS BARKLEY - WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY SOUL NOW?

To start this blog off I'd like to stress how dope Gnarls Barkley is. When I was in Florida going to school (whaddup Full Sail... assholes!!), about... I dunno, 2 years ago while I was doing the Recording Arts degree, I heard CRAZY for the first time. When I heard it, I was captivated... I was sucked in like the black hole and I enjoyed every second that played. I was like, what? This is incredible. I was showing everybody I knew. The epic/soulful production by Dangermouse meshed so well with the strong, strange and raspy vocals of Cee-Lo... the hook was intense, it shook me... it was epic... like the first time I heard Weezer's - The Blue Album. (wow) ...from then on, I've always been a die hard Gnarls Barkley fan. From the innovative stage presence + music videos to the pure genius that leaked through the speakers, they've always been at the top of my list.

So with no further a due, I give you the music video for their newest single, WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY SOUL? This video freaked me out at first... then after a while I couldn't stop laughing. The ever-evolving talent of Gnarls Barkley is at it again. Check on it:
