Apparently desperate to distance himself from any affiliation with law enforcement, the rapper Rick Ross has recently denounced as fake photos purporting to show him in a former career as a Florida prison guard. But Department of Corrections (DoC) records show that Ross, whose raps detail the Miami gangster lifestyle and his supposed days trafficking cocaine, did, in fact, work as a correctional officer for 18 months. Ross (real name: William Leonard Roberts) was appointed a prison guard in December 1995 at a salary of 22,913.54, according to the below personnel record, which was provided to TSG by Jo Ellyn Rackleff, a DoC spokesperson. The rapper’s social security number is identical to that of the jail guard.
Cat is out the bag buddy. I mean it's one thing to name yourself Rick Ross and call yourself something of a kingpin of this coke/gangster life, but its another that when the light is finally shed on the subject, you deny it up and down. Welp, sorry buddy, the truth always finds itself to leak at one time or another. I wonder how he's going to get outta this one!!
I've been watching many gang and criminal lifestyle documentaries for the past 2 weeks because they're pretty interesting. I see the kats that are really out there in that type of struggle... throwing sets, producing and distributing junk, waring with other gangs, and when it comes down to it beating/stabbing/shooting people to death... like it's literally a jungle out in some places around the world. And then... I see... these studio gangsters... perpetrating all sorts of shit through the music, glorifying it if you will. They make the soundtrack for niggas that are actually in the street, you know, where they are not. So I don't knock'em, it's better to be in the booth shootin' words off than in the streets where the war is really going on... but just know these guys are just walking contradictions. Don't believe the hype.

The Smoking Gun did a background check of their own to see whether or not Rick Ross was actually a correctional officer, a job position he has denied since the picture flooded the internet. Welp, check out this excerpt from The Smoking Gun:

Great story Ocky! I have NEVER believed any hype when it comes to "Gangsta Rappers." The entire theme is a contradiction, how can you find time to rap, run tours; when you're supposedly dealing drugs and killing people? Ricky Ross, is the not-so realest boss you have seen thus far. Where is good hip hop when you need it?
Oh by the way, I started on your dang banner. lawlz.
