With all the internet buzz that I've been seeing lately surrounding Killer Mike, I was almost certain dude was going to sell a nice amount judged by indie/underground-standards. Boy was I wrong... dude didn't even sell 5,000 copies. At a staggering 4,000 and an unfortunate 178 spot on the billboard charts, Killer Mike sold shit and a can of piss. So what's the deal? What's going on? I sure as shit wasn't going to run out and cop a Killer Mike album, but that's just preference... I didn't go ape shit about any of the drops I heard, though aggressively real and undeniably true, it didn't do it for me, but I know alot more than 4,000 kats felt his approach!
Was it a rush in promotion? Was it the fact that the album might have dropped alittle earlier than it should have? Maybe more promotion was needed? More interviews, more videos, more radio spots? Maybe if he reached just a bit further he would have won alot more fans eager enough to cop the album. All in all, it just didn't live up to the hype! WOMP!
