Plies sat down with Vibe to discuss all sorts of irrelevant crap, and one thing they touched on was his name. When asked what it meant, here's what he said:

lmao, okay... while rubbing my beard I was like, wait, what?? So then I read on... the interviewer goes on to say I've heard of a tool called Pliers, but... and Plies quickly responds with this:
